Welcome & Welcome Back A big welcome to our 2014 kindergarten families, it has been wonderful to see the school buzzing with all of your new faces this week. We hope you are all enjoying starting out at this fantastic school and we look forward to getting to know you this year. To our other new families, welcome also, there are lots of great things happening at Glebe Public School and we hope to see you getting involved in as many as you are able. To everyone else, I hope your holidays were excellent and you're all pleased to be back and ready for another great year. Grounds works Within the last 15 months, the P&C has been successful in obtaining over $60,000 worth of funding for capital works in the school grounds. At the end of last year our new red entrance pathway was creating. In coming weeks work will be undertaken to level the paving both outside Centipede and at the front of the school. Further work is anticipated this year to improve access and create safer spaces for our children and families to enjoy. Watch this space. P&C Meetings in 2014 We have decided to hold P&C meetings in 2014 on Tuesday nights in the Computer Lab at Glebe Public School. The meetings will be from 630pm and the proposed dates are as follows (mark them in your diaries now) 25th February, 25th March, 6th May, 10th June, 22nd July, 2nd September and 21st October. Childcare can be organised through Centipede, but only if we are given some notice that there are parents who will make use of this facility So again, that first meeting, Tuesday 25th February, 630pm in the Computer lab!!! The other date to mark in your diaries now is Saturday the 5th of April for Glebe Public Schools 2nd Trivia Night. Our first was held in November 2012 and was such a marvelous success. BUT it takes a lot of effort to get it organised, so if any parents or carers are willing to help out in any way please let us know. Everything from asking businesses for sponsorship, to selling tickets, decorating the venue, putting up posters and organising raffles and silent auction items. |
